Whether you prefer patient tiki-taka or the lethal speed of a counter-attack, understanding the 5 playstyles is the first step to glory in eFootball.
In the dynamic universe of eFootball, true mastery lies in your team's tactical identity. The pillar of this identity is the Playstyle, an instruction that dictates how your team behaves on the field, influencing positioning, movement, and transitions.
The 5 Playstyles Deciphered
Possession Game
Philosophy: To dominate the opponent by maintaining possession, with short passes and constant movement. Players move closer to provide passing options. In defense, the team adopts a high and aggressive press to recover the ball quickly.
Quick Counter
Philosophy: To win the ball back and launch a swift, vertical attack. As soon as the ball is recovered, players sprint towards the opponent's goal with through passes. The defense also presses aggressively in the attacking half to force mistakes.
Opinion: I've never seen a 'good person' play Quick Counter—and yes, this message is for you if you prefer this style. Jokes aside, Quick Counter is almost unanimous among pro players. If someone is a pro player, you can bet they play this tactic. And, knowing pro players, they choose Quick Counter because, at the end of the day, it's simply easier.
Long Ball Counter
Philosophy: To prioritize a solid defense and exploit spaces with long, precise passes. The team defends in a deep, compact block, luring the opponent in to then exploit the space behind the defense.
Out Wide
Philosophy: To focus the offensive play on the flanks, using wingers to create plays from the byline and crosses. Players look to spread the field, positioning themselves wide on the wings.
Long Ball
Philosophy: A direct attacking style that uses aerial passes as its main tool, often bypassing the midfield. Tall, strong forwards are the target, while the team positions itself to win the 'second ball'.
Which one to choose?
Out Wide and Long Ball are like distant cousins: you know they exist, but you haven't seen them in a long time. If you want to play 'like a decent person', focus on Long Ball Counter or Possession Game, and of course, there's also Quick Counter. That way you get closer to the pro player style... if that's even a good thing.
